W.S.W. DONATION APPEAL
Dear WSWS reader,
The first three months of 2011 have been among the most eventful and consequential ever: upheaval throughout the Middle East and North Africa; in Wisconsin, the first outbreak of mass working class struggle in the US in many years; earthquake and nuclear disaster in Japan; and now imperialist war against Libya.
History seems to have sped up. The World Socialist Web Site has responded to the changing objective situation by significantly increasing its coverage. Regular readers will note that the number of articles is at least 50 percent higher on any given day compared to a year ago. With the generous support of its readers, the WSWS has added staff and significantly increased its on-the-spot coverage of breaking developments.
We sincerely thank all those who have donated in recent months. But we must continue to raise money in order to sustain and expand our work. There are no billionaires funding us.
We appeal to workers in Wisconsin and other American states fighting the budget cuts imposed by Democratic and Republican politicians alike to make expanded coverage of their struggles possible.
We appeal to all those outraged by the military violence of American imperialism, and its British and French co-conspirators, to support the only publication that has from the beginning warned against and opposed the Obama administration’s drive to war in Libya.
We appeal to all those inspired by the example of the Egyptian and Tunisian workers, and the masses throughout the Middle East, to make it possible for the WSWS to provide analysis and perspective for the revolutionary struggles that will erupt on a far wider scale throughout the world.
Please make a generous contribution today.
Fraternally,
Patrick Martin for the World Socialist Web Site
